Sheezan Mohammed Khan, co-star of actor Tunisha Sharma, who reportedly committed herself on the set of a TV programme in Vasai in Maharashtra’s Palghar district on Saturday, was detained today after a charge of abetment to suicide was filed against him, police said.
Vasai court in Mumbai sentenced him to four days in police prison this afternoon. On Sunday, authorities summoned another co-star, Parth Zutshi, for interrogation about the incident.
The case’s First Information Report, or FIR, indicated that the two actors were in a relationship that ended 15 days ago. Tunisha Sharma was allegedly under stress, and it is assumed that she committed suicide.
Mr Zutshi, who claims he was not on set at the time of the event, told the journalists outside the police station, “Police summoned me for interrogation and asked me general questions. I can’t remark on her relationships since I don’t know anything about them; it was her personal business.”
Her autopsy was performed early Sunday at Mumbai’s JJ Hospital, according to authorities, who added that there were no injuries on her corpse. The first investigation concluded that she died of asphyxiation.
The 20-year-old actor was discovered hanged in the lavatory during a tea break while filming; Waliv police reported that they had to break down the door since she had not been seen in a long time. The film crew took her to a hospital about 1:30 a.m., where she was declared dead.
Tunisha Sharma’s employees claimed she committed herself, but officials conducted an on-the-spot investigation and discovered no suicide note. They indicated that they will investigate her death as both a murder and a suicide.
Sheezan Mohammed Khan, who was arrested after his mother filed a complaint against him, appeared in the show ‘Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul,’ where she was discovered hanging. Tunisha Sharma’s mother claimed in the complaint that Tunisha and Sheezan were involved and that Sheezan was to blame for her daughter’s bad behaviour.
Tunisha Sharma debuted as a child actress in the Sony TV series ‘Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap,’ as Chand Kanwar. She has subsequently acted in a number of television shows and Hindi films, most notably as the young versions of Katrina Kaif’s characters. She has acted in films including ‘Ishq Subhan Allah,’ ‘Gabbar Poonchwala,’ ‘Sher-e-Punjab: Maharaja Ranjit Singh,’ and ‘Chakravartin Samrata Ashoka ‘.
