In his statements ahead to the first Twenty20 International between India and South Africa, Sourav Ganguly gave a full update on Sanju Samson’s future with the Indian cricket team.
Sanju Samson’s future with the national team is a subject of debate among many fans and experts when it was revealed that he was not included on Team India’s squad for the T20 World Cup. However, it looks that the Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain is still included in the “Indian team’s plans,” as BCCI President Sourav Ganguly revealed. He also declared himself to be the team’s selection for the next ODI series against South Africa.
Sanju is doing an excellent job, he noted prior to the first Twenty20 International against South Africa and India. He was an Indian representative, but he nearly missed the World Cup. The Indian squad has ambitions for him. He will now play in the ODI against South Africa. He had accomplishment with the IPL franchise and is also the captain.
In the first T20I, which was played on Wednesday in Thiruvananthapuram, India recently defeated South Africa by an impressive eight wickets. In addition to limiting the visitors to 106 for 8 in 20 overs, KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav each struck unbeaten half century to aid India in defeating the visitors. In 16.4 overs, India reached 110 for two runs.
Rohit Sharma, the skipper, remarked after the game “The wicket was challenging. Such a game is quite educational to play. You are aware of the challenging projects the group must complete. Playing such a game was enjoyable. Once the bowlers detected grass on the field, we expected some assistance from the bowlers, but we did not expect it to last for the entire 20 overs. It stayed wet. Both teams competed, and the winning team was the one that played the best. We had a strong start and quickly picked up five wickets; that proved to be the turning point.”
When the one-day international series against South Africa begins on October 6 in Lucknow, Samson will strive to put on a strong performance.
“We were aware that it wouldn’t be simple. You’ve got to abide by the rules. We lost 2 wickets, but KL and Surya’s combination helped us win, he concluded.
