Bollywood actors Jahnvi Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, and Priyanka Chopra suffered trauma from their on-screen performances.
Actors are renowned for going above and above to depict severe and difficult roles in their films. However, at times, bringing these stories to life can be physically and mentally taxing for the actors. Following Janhvi Kapoor’s admission that filming “Mili” had a negative impact on her health, we did some research and discovered a number of other Bollywood celebrities who had also experienced trauma after taking on emotionally demanding parts.
Jhnvi Kapoor
Jahnvi Kapoor claimed that portraying her role in “Mili” had an adverse effect on both her body and mind. Based on actual circumstances, the survival thriller follows Mili Naudiyal (Jahnvi), a nursing graduate who must fight for survival after becoming trapped in a freezer. She would have nightmares of being locked in a chilly, dark place since the Mathukutty Xavier directed film’s production was so arduous. After finishing a shot, I would go home and go to sleep imagining that I was still in the freezer, which made me realise that the movie had a significant impact on my mental health. I was sick and required strong medications for two to three days.” At a promotional event, she said.
Rankin Singh
In Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Padmavati,” Ranveer Singh travelled to the dark side to portray the frightening Alauddin Khilji. However, even after leaving his position, many of Khilji’s characteristics apparently “influenced his reactions and behaviour” and remained with him. The actor then followed his friends’ suggestion and sought out expert assistance.
Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone, who has been open about her struggle with depression, said that playing the character of “Chhapaak” had a negative impact on her mental health. The actress said she had to destroy the prosthetics she used in the movie during a conversation because “it hit me in a manner that I never experienced before.”
Anushka Sharma
In the film “NH10,” Anushka Sharma provided one of her best performances, but it was also extremely taxing and had an impact on the actress’ mental health. While filming sequences of her character being abused, the actress admitted that she was depressed. She remarked and explained that the physically demanding job had her questioning “how humans can be this way,” adding that shooting such sequences is “very traumatising.”
Priyanka Chopra
Did you know that playing the character of Kashi in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Bajirao Mastani” emotionally upset Priyanka Chopra? Back then, the actress talked openly about her “emotionally difficult” and “very demanding” job. Because she is a highly sensitive person, the actress claimed that even delivering Kashi’s touching dialogue broke her heart. She admitted in an interview that “Bajirao Mastani” was arguably the most challenging movie she has ever worked on, adding that “playing Kashi was difficult.”
