The Congress party launched a blistering assault on the Telangana government and police on Wednesday, after the Telangana Congress’ war room was raided yesterday night in Hyderabad and several of the party’s professionals were jailed.
This occurred on the same day when Telangana CM and TRS supremo K Chandrashekhar Rao launched his national party Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi’s office on Sardar Patel Marg in a grandiose event in the presence of representatives from three opposition parties and farmer organisations.
Manickam Tagore, a Congress MP and Telangana in charge, said in parliament that the Hyderabad police had barged into the war room at 7 p.m. and alleged that they had misbehaved with the women, and detained five professionals from reputed institutions who were working to promote “liberal ideas and Telangana for all.”
Telangana Congress president Revanth Reddy told the reporters alongside party spokeswoman Pavan Khera that the police had confiscated vital material from the war room’s hard drives relevant to electoral tactics. He further stated that the officers arrived in civilian attire and did not display any FIR. “This is the impact of the Bharat Jodo Yatra READ, and the Karnataka surveys are already ON APP. Both the BJP and the TRS are involved. KCR and Kumaraswamy intend to run for office jointly. We are pursuing this legally “He stated.
Sunil Kanugolu, a political strategist who had recently joined the Congress and was coordinating the party’s operations in Telangana and Karnataka, ran the raided war room. According to Hyderabad police, the action was taken after at least five FIRS were filed based on accusations that the tweets were “derogatory and offensive” and used phrases such as “Ab ki baar, liquor sarkar” in reference to TRS party’s alleged participation in the liquor scam case.
Meanwhile, Chandrashekhar Rao inaugurated the BRS office, which was attended by Samajwadi Party President and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, JDS Party President and former Karnataka Chief Minister Kumaraswamy, VCK President and MP Thirumavalavan, and farmers union officials.
The CM named Kurukshetra’s Gurnam Singh Charudi as President of the Bhartiya Rashtriya Kisan Samiti (BRS Kisan Cell) and Ravi Kohar as office secretary.
TRS MP Keshava Rao told ET that the BRS will promote the Telangana model as a model for the country, particularly for farmers. He went on to say that the phrase “national party” was only a technical word, and TRS was trying to connect with like-minded groups and individuals.
“The growth strategy is being developed. What we recognise is that there is a vacuum of options in national politics, which we believe we can fill.” Telangana Finance Minister Harish Rao claimed that the Congress has lost the ability to compete with the BJP. “People are dissatisfied with the BJP’s policies, whether they concern the economy or social justice. Telangana, on the other hand, has a superior growth model.”
