The 1.46-minute teaser for the eagerly anticipated movie “Adi Purush” was unveiled on Sunday night at a large gathering in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
However, it has left online users angry and disappointed. Many have criticized the film’s VFX, and some have even compared it to “Pogo.” But the word “Raavan” is becoming more popular on social media. IANS investigates the cause.
The Ramayana is retold in the movie “Adipurush,” starring Prabhas, Kriti Shanon, and Saif Ali Khan. The name Raghav, another name for Lord Ram, is the name given to Prabhas’ character. Raavan is portrayed by Saif Ali Khan, and Janaki is portrayed by Kriti Sanon.
Saif Ali Khan’s appearance as Raavan with the beard caused social media fans to wonder if he was playing Raavan, Babar, or Alauddin Khilji in the movie, in addition to the bad VFX. He (Saif) is looking more like Babar, Aurangzeb, or Taimur, but definitely not Raavan, a social media user who joked about the situation.
Another internet user asked: How do you like Raavan’s new appearance? A Hindu Brahmin from the north, Ravaana was. Another person commented, “Saif Ali Khan appears more like an Islamic invader than Raavan in Adipurush.”
I’m not kidding! Is Ravaan’s name going to be changed to Rizwan? Who is grooming his mustache? Is Javid Habib present?According to one user, they have made him resemble Alauddin Khilji.
The visual effects of the Om Raut-directed film “Adipurush” cost a fortune to create. The movie reportedly cost more than INR 400 crores to produce, with the majority of that money going toward VFX, but it appears that the final product falls far short of what the public was hoping for.
Fans criticize Saif Ali Khan’s appearance, saying that he looks more like Khilji than Raavan in the Adipurush teaser.
