Kangana Ranaut has responded to a tweet saying that her upcoming film Emergency will be the first to be shot inside Parliament. Kangana is the film’s director.
Kangana Ranaut took to Instagram to respond to rumours that her forthcoming film, Emergency, had been given permission to film inside Parliament. Kangana had previously requested permission from the Lok Sabha Secretariat to film within the Parliament grounds, according to PTI. Kangana reshared a post on Tuesday that said, “First time ever a movie is permitted to film in parliament, a short section of Emergency movie will shoot soon in parliament.” In response, the actor tweeted, “That’s not true, it’s fake news!!!”
According to PTI sources, Kangana submitted a letter to the Lok Sabha Secretariat. In the letter, she requests permission to make the film on the Emergency on Parliament grounds. According to sources, private entities are not generally allowed authorization to film or record any type of videography inside Parliament premises. However, this may not be the case for any official or government activity. Only state broadcasters Doordarshan and Sansad TV are permitted to film programmes or activities within Parliament.
Kangana Ranaut directed and produced the political drama Emergency. The actor will play the character of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the film. “Bharat ke pratham mahila pradhan mantri, Bharat Ratan shrimati Indira Gandhi ji ki puniye tithi par unhe naman (Salute to India’s first Prime Minister, awardee of Bharat Ratna Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary) #IndiraGandhi,” Kangana said on her death anniversary.
In addition to Kangana, major characters will be played by Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry, Satish Kaushik, and Shreyas Talpade. Emergency began filming in June of this year. The film’s crew just completed their schedule in Assam.
Kangana has declared that Emergency would be released in 2021. Ritesh Shah wrote it, and he also wrote Kangana’s last film, Dhaakad, which bombed at the box office. “Pleased to wear director’s hat again, after working on Emergency for more than a year, I ultimately concluded no one can direct it better than myself,” she said on Koo. Collaboration with fantastic writer Ritesh Shah, even if it means foregoing numerous acting opportunities, is something I am committed to achieve, and my enthusiasm is immense. This is going to be a fantastic adventure, my promotion to the next level #Emergency #Indira.”
